Citizens of countries not listed above do not need an invitation for obtaining a visa for Moldova.

Under the provisions of Article 30 of the Law no. 200 of 16.07.2010 on foreigners’ status in the Republic of Moldova, which entered into force on 24.12.2010, the following categories of foreigners are exempted from the need to present an invitation letter for obtaining a visa:

  1. the minor child whose parent, foreign citizen, is in possession of a residence permit in the Republic of Moldova or identity card for stateless persons, under the condition that it is valid for at least 90 days from the date of entry visa;
  2. foreigners who require a visa for transit and airport transit visa, under the condition to provide guarantees that they will be allowed entry into the destination state or that they will leave the territory of the Republic of Moldova;
  3. citizens of the countries with which the Republic of Moldova has signed international treaties to that effect or stateless persons residing in these states;
  4. the minor child whose parent is a foreign national married to a citizen of the Republic of Moldova;
  5. foreigners who hold a residence permit or a valid visa (except Transit Visa), issued by one EU Member State or States Parties to the Schengen Agreement;
  6. persons that prove they were born on the territory of the Republic of Moldova or M.S.S.R
  7. foreigners invited by the Government or central government authorities in the framework of investment projects of an interest to the national economy;
  8. foreigners holders of diplomatic and service passports.
