Visas
Foreign citizens who do not need a visa to enter the Republic of Moldova
Citizens of the following states, holders of any type of passport do not need visas for entry into the Republic of Moldova for a stay in Moldova no longer than 90 days within a period of 6 months from the date of first entry into the country:
- European Union member states - Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary;
- Canada, Japan, Swiss Confederation, Iceland, Norway, USA, Principality of Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Israel, Vatican, San Marino, Georgia;
- Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States - Armenia, Azerbaidjan, Belarus, Kazahstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan;
Holders of diplomatic and service passports who are citizens of the following countries do not need visas to enter the Republic of Moldova for a stay of up to 90 days within 6 months from the date of the first entry:
- Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Vietnam.
Holders of diplomatic and service passports who are citizens of the following countries do not need visas to enter the Republic of Moldova for a stay up to 30 days:
- China, Iran, Turkmenistan.
Diplomatic and consular personnel accredited to the Republic of Moldova and their family members, staff of permanent missions and representatives of international organizations based in Moldova and their families, foreign media representatives accredited in Moldova, who hold accreditation cards issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, have the right to enter and leave without a visa throughout the period of validity of the accreditation card.
Turkmenistan citizens who fall into the following categories do not need visas to enter the Republic of Moldova:
- Civil aviation aircraft crew members who hold valid national passports, and have the inscription required in the general statement (fly missions);
- Naval ship crew members who hold valid naval passports and the inscription required in the logbook or an extract therefrom;
- Railway team members, from locomotive or refriderated wagons of the railway system, who hold valid national passports, holding nominal lists, waybills, approved for each route;
- special couriers, used in inter-governmental communication, who hold valid national passports, holding relevant documents issued by competent authorities of the party that sent them.
In addition, under Law no. 200 of 16.07.2010 regarding foreigners in the Republic of Moldova, which will entered into force on December 24, 2010, foreigners who hold a valid residence permit issued by the Moldovan authorities will enter the Republic of Moldova without visas.
Citizens of countries that are not listed above may enter the Republic of Moldova only on the basis of a valid visa.
Please be advised that according to the Moldovan legislation, the citizen of the Republic of Moldova that also has the citizenship of another country, in relation with the Republic of Moldova is recognized only as a Moldovan citizen, even if the validity of the passport has expired.
