Meeting of Ambassador Aureliu Ciocoi with the CSIS leadership and experts in Washington D.C.

On October 10, 2017, Ambassador Aureliu Ciocoi met with the leadership of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington D.C. and experts who cover the programs for Europe and Eurasia.

During the discussion with John Hamre, CSIS President, and Heather Conley, Director of the Program for Security and Foreign Policy in Europe, and other experts, Ambassador Ciocoi presented the achievements of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the process of implementing the key reforms, especially justice sector reform and anti-corruption efforts, as well as ongoing efforts in the Transnistrian settlement process.

CSIS experts commended the Moldovan authorities' efforts in the field of reforms, underlining the importance of further maintaining commitment and a sustained pace in their implementation.

It also has been highlighted the role of civil society in the process of ensuring good governance. CSIS experts praised the permanent consultations of the Government and Parliament of the Republic of Moldova with civil society on the most important legislative initiatives.

Dr. John Hamre, along with his colleagues, expressed their full support for advancing these goals through CSIS's projects and discussion platforms.
