Visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of FLEX student of month

On April 28th, a visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America was organized for Iulia Tertilova, a Moldovan student who participated in the future leaders exchange program FLEX, who was announced as student of month in March 2017 by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State.

During the talks, Tatiana Solomon, Charge d`Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Moldova to the United States of America, congratulated on behalf of the Embassy on multiple achievements and activities in educational and cultural dimensions of Iulia Tertilova, highlighting the contribution of the young Moldovan representative in the FLEX program for promoting the image of the country and developing Moldovan-American people to people relationships.

The FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) program offers high school students the opportunity to study the people and culture of the United States through an international exchange, attending an American high school and living in a U.S. host family. The FLEX program is funded by the United States Government and administered by the U.S. Department of State`s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. In the period of 2016 - 2017, 800 students have been in the United States through the FLEX program and in the 24 years of the program, over 25,000 students benefited from scholarships.
