Charge d'Affaires a.i. Tatiana Solomon attended a women’s luncheon in honor of International Women’s Day, held by First Lady Melania Trump

On March 8, the Charge d'Affaires a.i. Tatiana Solomon attended a women’s luncheon in honor of International Women’s Day, held by First Lady Melania Trump. The event was held in the State Dinning Room at the White House, where the first lady welcomed about 50 women.

First Lady spoke about kindness, tolerance, equality, the importance of education and women coming together to help each other out. Mrs. Trump spoke about the value and importance of freedom and equal opportunity and also additionally stressed the importance of female education.

Attendees included Ivanka Trump; Vice President Mike Pence’s wife, Karen, and her daughter, Charlotte Pence; White House counselor Kellyanne Conway; Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Senator Susan Collins and fashion designer Rachel Roy. President Trump and VP Mike Pence made a brief appearance at the event, which also featured, of course, lunch.

On the margins of the event, T.Solomon had a quick exchange of opinions with VP Pence and briefed him on the priorities of the bilateral agenda of our country with the United States. Also, she had a good discussion with First Lady relating the importance of common programs of cooperation in promoting the equal opportunity for women and the efforts made by the Government of the Republic of Moldova to combat human trafficking.
