“Congressional Moldova Caucus " inauguration

During the first day of official visit to the United States of America, Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu, attended the inaugural meeting of the Friends of Moldova Group in American Congress “Congressional Moldova Caucus ". At the event took part the Group co-chairs, U.S. congressmen David Price and Joe Pitts and Sen. John McCain. In his speech, Joe Pitts emphasized U.S. interest to the evolution and prospects of Moldova, stressing the relationship of partnership between both countries. U.S. Congressman appreciated the country's performance in implementing political, economic and institutional reforms. In this context, David Price has pledged to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the Moldovan Parliament. We want, said the American Congressman, a strengthening of bilateral partnership Moldova - U.S. and to advance the quality of political dialogue to a commitment to serve the strategic interests of our countries. David Price has pledged to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between Moldova and North Carolina State, including at parliamentary level, and to exclude the Republic of Moldova under the Jackson-Vanik amendment. At the meeting, Senator John McCain referred to the importance of examining the process of exclusion of the Republic of Moldova under the Jackson-Vanik amendment, in parallel with the Russian Federation.
